The Department of Forensic Medicine at KMU-IMS is equipped with a dedicated demonstration room, a museum with carefully preserved medico-legal specimens, and three offices for faculty and staff. The department places emphasis on interactive teaching methods, case-based learning, and practical exposure in medico-legal report writing and autopsy demonstrations.
The undergraduate course in Forensic Medicine covers forensic pathology, medical jurisprudence, clinical forensic medicine, and toxicology. The curriculum, designed in line with PMDC and HEC standards, integrates with other medical subjects. Students gain practical training through medico-legal demonstrations, museum-based learning, and toxicological discussions. Emphasis is placed on professional ethics, analytical skills, and real-world applications of forensic knowledge.
